About us

Who are we?

Electromagnetics Council (EMC) is a joint chapter founded in 2012 under the IEEE UPRM Branch. It is a student effort of joining the technical and professional interests from these three existing IEEE societies:

We share all of these organizations fields of interests. To learn more of what are these societies interests and why we relate to them, visit:

MISSION

It is our best interest to spread knowledge and increase awareness in this area of study to students from the campus that are or might be interested in subjects related to applications in applied electromagnetics. By professional and technical development activities we wish to help students reach their leadership and technical potentials.

VISION

The EMC is to be recognized as a potential tool for the enhancement in the development of our students as future professionals in RF disciplines.

OBJECTIVES

•Establish a direct relationship with students and companies.
•Provide exposure to technical applications through seminars and projects.
•Allow the involvement of students to develop leadership and technical skills.
•Find resources and equipment to facilitate activities to capitalize learning
•Expose students to facilities where they can see every day work of RF scientists and
engineers.
•To gather a student population willing to work in research projects.
•Help make this institute more competitive.
•Serve as a door for speakers of companies and associations to reach a student
audience.
•Provide students looking for research and work opportunities, a direct link to
professors and companies.
