Caribbean Colloquium on Power Quality (CCPQ)

    CCPQ will assemble international power quality and power electronics experts that will instruct participants on current and future research, education and industrial issues in electric energy systems. CCPQ will serve to disseminate new ideas on Power Engineering education and also discuss new research directions for the power quality field. A secondary objective of the colloquium is to bring attention to Puerto Rico, the Caribbean, and the special engineering needs of the region.
The list of collaborators for CCPQ includes international and national guest speakers, local industry and government officials, University of Puerto Rico-Mayagüez (UPRM) faculty, the IEEE-Puerto Rico West Section, and the IEEE-Puerto Rico/Caribbean Section. Participants will receive continuing education credits if requested. CCPQ is primarily supported by the National Science Foundation under Grant No. ECS 0134021.

Paper Submission Guidelines

Prospective authors should submit a 5-8 page IEEE/PES-format paper on one of the topics above. CCPQ Executive Committee is especially interested in submissions from industry (session on industry perspective on PQ), and on the following topics related to PQ: voltage and current variations, power electronics loads, distributed generation & alternate energy sources, and mitigation of PQ problems.
The paper can be original work, a summary of previous experiences in this area and/or author’s views on the future of PQ with regard to one of the topics. All CCPQ papers will be included in the Conference Proceedings. Papers should be in PDF or Word format and sent via e-mail to: oneill@ieee.org

March 28 Early registration: $350 (participant), $50 (presenter)
June 15 Registration deadline: $400 (participant), $100 (presenter)

Conference Venue
The Hyatt Dorado Beach Resort is located in Dorado, 22 miles west of San Juan, the Capital of Puerto Rico. Daytrips you can plan while staying at the hotel include visits to Historic Old San Juan, El YunqueRainforest, and the World Famous Arecibo Radio-telescope. The Hotel is located along a beautiful beach, and its amenities include award-winning 18-hole golf courses, tennis courts, spas, full service watersports, four restaurants and a beach side bar.
